**New Orleans Faces QB Quandary as Training Camp Begins**

The New Orleans Saints head into training camp with a quarterback competition that has no clear frontrunner. Three players are vying for the starting position, leaving Head Coach Kellen Moore to closely evaluate each signal-caller during practice.  Moore is giving all three quarterbacks equal reps as he seeks the leader of his offense. 

**Shough Makes Early Impression**

Second-round pick Tyler Shough has generated early buzz. During OTAs, Moore praised the rookie's football IQ and experience, highlighting his ability to process information quickly.

“Tyler’s experience, certainly there’s value to that," said Kellen Moore. "You can see it in the classroom aspect of this thing. His ability to process football at a very easy rate in the classroom. It’s really, really good when you throw him up there and you’re watching film and you’re talking about plays and concepts. He's got great exposure, and he's got great experiences that he can lean on.”

**Shough’s Contract Saga Ends Just Before Camp**

Shough’s contract negotiations held up for a while, as he sought full guarantees. He finally signed with the Saints just days before training camp commenced.


**Looking Ahead:  Could Klubnik Be in New Orleans' Future?**

NFL analyst Sayre Bedinger believes the Saints could target Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik in the 2026 draft if they don’t find their answer this season.

“There’s no question that the New Orleans Saints have one of the ugliest quarterback situations in the NFL right now,” Bedinger wrote. "The good news for New Orleans is that they’ve got younger guys with some upside, although they did use a second-round pick on one of the oldest QB prospects to come along in quite some time (Tyler Shough, will be 26 this season)."


Klubnik has continued to improve under Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and aims to lead the Tigers deep into the playoffs before potentially entering the NFL Draft. If the Saints haven’t solidified their quarterback situation by next year, Klubnik could be a prime target.
